DIY Antibacterial Travel Yoga Mat Spray

Most great ideas come out of necessity, don't they? Well, this is the case with this DIY Yoga Mat Spray.

As much as I love my Saje Wellness Anti-Bacterial Yoga Mat spray, the bottle is too big to travel with it. And though it makes sense to just pour some into a small, travel-size spray bottle, I thought it a fun challenge to make my own.

So, here it is!

The fun part about this is that you can make a variety of mini bottles with different scents (or unscented!) to pick and choose as you see fit for that particular day or trip.

I'm sharing this one particular recipe but keep in mind, I was looking for a good anti-bacterial spray - which means, the tea tree smell is pretty strong. You may want to use a little less of that particular essential oil.

What You'll Need:

1 small glass spray bottle

Distilled or Spring Water

Witch Hazel

Peppermint Essential Oil

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Patchouli Essential Oil

Bergamot Essential Oil

The first two are your anti-bacterial oils. Third oil is your base note - the scent lasts longer than the others. Last oil is your top note - it loses it's strength quite quickly.

Directions:

Fill bottle 3/4 of the way with water. Add witch hazel to top it off (1/4 of spray bottle). Add 5 drops Patchouli. 3 of Peppermint. 3 of Tea Tree. 4 of Bergamot. Shake lightly.

That's it! It's pretty easy. See if you can create your own combination of oils and don't forget to share them for the rest of us to see!!
